Hello and welcome to my new blog post. First of all, I would like to wish you HAPPY NEW YEAR and I wish you an awesome success with your marketing plans this year. 2016 has been the year of videos and that notion seems to dominate 2017 as well. So here are my thoughts on why and how explainer animation videos are predicted to lead the video marketing domain in 2017. “Seeing comes before words”, writes John Berger, a media theorist, in his book Ways of Seeing. He says images go into the long-term memory where they are permanently etched. Pause and ponder on these words – permanently etched. As a business owner, do you want your product to have a memory recall? If you believe in profits, the answer is “Hell, yes!” and follow-up question is, “How?” 76% marketers use video content for B2B marketing and 60% confirms this approach is more effective through animated explainer videos. According to a new report from Magisto, which offers video editing software, 85 percent of small businesses are currently using video or intend to use video in the near future, and two-thirds of small businesses create marketing videos at least four times a year. Neilsen studies reports, 64% of marketers expect video to dominate their content marketing strategies in the near future, and this is not just because videos are memorable. All you need to be convinced of the power of a video is CARE(Conversion rates, Attention spans, Reach, Emotional connect).
Boost conversion rates
The Call to Action – Is that not what marketing efforts are for? Surveys indicate that videos offer better conversion rates than other forms of media. During start-up days, Dropbox Inc., a file hosting service provider, limited their homepage to one landing page video. This video increased their conversion rates by 10% and resulted in several thousand sign-ups! Here’s the digital video that Dropbox used to increase conversions:
Animated explainer videos increase attention Spans
An average adult is exposed to 5000+ ads daily, of which 12 make an impression. That’s a baffling amount of competition to consider, and all companies are fighting for the ever-decreasing attention spans in this social-media dominated age. With the dynamics, 65% viewers watch more than 3/4th of a video. It isn’t about the spending anymore, but how quickly can the audience understand your offering that determines the success of your marketing efforts. Explainer video animations get this job done in a time span from a few seconds to three minutes!
Reach
YouTube, one of the most preferred video-hosting websites, has more than one billion viewers and several billion views daily, of which half are via mobile phones. Cisco studies predict three-fourths (75 percent) of the world’s mobile data traffic will be video by 2020. Videos can be shared, liked and commented upon – the loop of tremendous possibilities. Why think of targeting thousands when you can reach billions?! Check out this blog post from Lucia Doynel about why it is worth investing in video.
Emotional Connect
93% of our communication happens non-verbally, according to Psychologist Albert Mehrabian. Videos offer a blend of dynamics like animations, the tone of voice, lesser interruptions, music, and more. Audiences experience a subtle but powerful emotional connect with watching videos, versus reading a text…An emotionally connected viewer is more likely to buy your offering. Now… you may be convinced to create a video for your business. You are probably buzzing with ideas! You are thinking that you will cancel other efforts, and focus only on a video. Don’t scrap your campaign just yet. Videos are most effective when used as a part of a campaign. Like other content marketing efforts, this strategy needs to be employed as a part of the larger mix. Choose wisely. Choose creatively. Such videos are here to boost your campaign to new heights of CARE.
